1951-52 Parkhurst

This was the first Bruins team set I started chasing, but it was only the second set I completed. 1954-55 Parkhurst was the first one I finished, and I will confess, that one was far easier.

This was the first team set where I bothered looking at graded cards – in fact in some cases graded cards were being offered for less than their ungraded counterparts. A few of the cards here have paper missing from the back, but just about every one looks great from the front. In my humble opinion, of course.

Most of the Bruins cards in this set are labeled as rookie cards, even though several did not start their pro career during the 1950-51 season. This is simply because it was the first release since 1940-41 O-Pee-Chee, so many of the players had never appeared on a card before.

    Status: Complete (17/17).

In addition to the Bruins team set, I also sought after one of the more famous hockey cards in history, the Barilko Winning Goal:

I stole this from a hockey card...
