A lot of pink and red on the Bruins cards in the 1958-59 set – not really something I noticed while collecting the cards, but now that I've taken a picture of the set, I can't un-see it.
In the picture at right you may notice that the #4 Leo Labine card (second from left, top row) is in pretty unsavory condition, with a crease as well as very soft corners. I've already found a near mint replacement, and plan to update all of the pictures when I figure out how to do lighting. The rest of the cards are in mighty fine shape.
The best Bruins card in the set is the Bucyk second year; the highlights of the base set are the Bobby Hull rookie, Eddie Shack rookie, and the Gordy Howe misspelling. Nobody seems to notice that Jerry Toppazzini's name is spelled wrong on the front of his card, but – to be fair – that happened throughout his career. At least it's spelled correctly on the back.
